With competitive teams at almost ever school, Prep League victories are going to mean even more this season.
And maybe even more so when it’s a road victory.
Mayfield went into Flintridge Prep and handled the Rebels in a three-game sweep.
The Cubs earned a 25-18, 25-11 and 25-19 victory.
Annie Evans had 6 kills and Olivia Smith added five kills for Mayfield.
Middle blockers Catie Sanchez and Sarah Smith each contributed 3 kills apiece.
Ellie Watkins had 14 assists, Maeve Down added 13 digs and Allyse Urbock 11 digs.
Aoife Chow had 8 digs.
For Flintridge Prep, Libby Penn Penn led the way with 9 kills and Courtney Jackson had 6 kills.
Prep coach Sean Battie said that Ellen Chang played ‘great defense,’ and finished with a team-high 1 digs.
Mayfield will host Poly on Tuesday at 5:30, while Prep will host Mountain View at 4:30 next Wednesday.
