Name: Jacob Moreno
School: Maranatha High School
Grade: Sophomore
Sport: Football
Position: Receiver-Defensive Back-Running Back

Accomplishment(s): Moreno’s statistics are impressive, but his contributions to coach Steve Bogan’s program are infinite. The 5-foot-6, 140 pound sophomore plays running back and receiver on offense, he’s a defensive back on the other side of the ball and even makes his presence felt on special teams. Moreno had another athletic receiving TD in Maranatha’s 42-7 victory over Azusa on Friday, and had two TD catches and over 120 yards of receiving the week before in a blowout over Pasadena. Wherever the ball is, look for No. 21 and he’ll be there.

Quotes about Moreno:

Coach Steve Bogan: “He is just a pure football player.”

Quarterback Kwon Peterson: “He has the biggest heart of any football player I have ever seen.”

Wide Receiver Chandler Auguste: “Jacob isn’t afraid of anything or anybody, and makes contributions that are as big as anyone on our team.”
