From STAFF REPORTS

Mayfield coach Silvana Stans didn’t want anyone talking about a Prep League championship over the past weekend.

She wasn’t for a second taking Tuesday’s match with Westridge lightly.

Her players, though, through their play, told their coach, ‘we’ve got this.’

Mayfield’s doubles won all nine of their matches and the Cubs defeated the Tigers, 15-3, on Tuesday afternoon at the Arroyo Seco Racquet Club.

Lauren Panajotovic improved her season record to 38-1 overall, and 23-1 in league matches.

The star junior won all three of her matches on Tuesday.

Carly Hall, the Mayfield No. 2 singles player won two of her three matches.

But the true stars from Tuesday were the doubles teams.

Ariana and Alexia Saigh and Ashlinn and Eloise Kingston each won all three matches.

Julianna Bayramyan and Amaka Nwankwo claimed the two matches they played together.

Mayfield will close out its regular season schedule with matches against Poly and Chadwick.
