Caltech men’s soccer scattered eight shots from all over the field but were unable to overcome host Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges in a rematch of the two sides’ thrilling extra time finish at North Field back in September.

Three of the Beavers’ eight shots found a path to the net. Freshman forward Rohan Mirchandani (Pleasanton, Calif. / Foothill), senior midfielder Chris Haack (New York, N.Y. / The Browning School) and sophomore forward Kevin Yu (Park Ridge, N.J. / Park Ridge) each managed one shot on goal. Caltech started strong and drew a corner kick on the Stags within the game’s first three minutes.

Caltech goalkeeper Joe Como (Glen Cove, N.Y. / Friends Acad.) made five saves and played the full 90 minutes. The Beavers trailed the Stags, 2-0 at halftime.

Head Coach Phil Murray and the Beavers will return home on Saturday, Oct. 21 when they host Pomona-Pitzer Colleges at 11 a.m.
