Maranatha’s Chris Austin is signed. sealed and delivered (next year) to play at Fordham.

The Minutemen star senior is also in the highest of rare air when it comes to the Pasadena area’s most elite prep basketball players.

And he proved his worth early and often in Maranatha’s season opener.

Austin scored 41 points, including five 3-point shots.

He also grabbed 14 rebounds, dished out 6 assists, had 5 steals and 2 blocks.

And Maranatha’s 17-point advantage in the fourth quarter helped the Minutemen pull away, and to earn a 75-48 victory over Dorsey in the first round of the Rose City Roundball Classic at Maranatha on Monday night.

Xavier Ford added 13 points, 4 rounds, 4 steals and 3 assists.

Wes Clarkson finished with 12 points and 17 rebounds, while Brad Lee contributed 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals.

Devon Holiman had 4 points, 3 assists and a steal, and Ahmad Lewis scored 3 points and had 3 assists.

Maranatha will face Oak Park on Wednesday at 8 as they play the second round of their own Rose City Roundball Classic.
