If someone told you they missed 21 of 27 free-throw attempts, the first question might be “how many points did you lose by?”

Julia Macabuhay led the way again with 18 points, 6 rebounds, 7 steals and 5 assists.

Nicole Ortiz added 9 points and 17 rebounds.

Crystal Ramirez finished with 8 points, 13 rebounds and 2 assists.

Maranatha’s Patil Yaacoubian had a game-high 26 points.

Emily Jordan had 7 and Mireille Mitassian scored 3 points for the Minutemen.

La Salle got 5 points from Sky Uzeta, Brianna Antillon had 4, Zarah Huo scored 3 points and Natalia Rodriguez added 2 points for the Lancers.

Maranatha (1-3) all but doomed its chances Thursday when they were outscored 18-1 in the second quarter.

The Lancers took a 29-10 lead into the break and never looked back.

Quotable:

La Salle coach Freedom McCullough: “Despite the fact we were 6/27 from the free throw line, we had a team high of 30 offensive rebounds! Once we put it all together, our hard work and determination will lead us to new heights.”

Box Score:
Maranatha: 9-1-15-13-(38)
La Salle: 11-18-16-10-(55)
