La Salle coach Freedom McCullough is picking up where he left off last season.
The Lancers are off to a 6-0 start in 2017-18, thanks to five consecutive wins at the San Marino Tournament.
La Salle defeated Marshall, 44-22, on Saturday morning to run the tournament unscathed.
Julia Macabuhay led the way again.
The star senior scored 19 points, 8 rebounds, 5 steals and 2 assists.
Alyssa Arroyo and Briana Antillon had 6 points apiece for the Lancers.
Aprill Esquivel scored half of Marshall’s points, and finished with 11 for the Eagles.
La Salle’s Crystal Ramirez and Zarah Huo each chipped in with 4 points apiece.
The Lancers have very little time for rest as they begin Burroughs Tournament play on Monday against Alemany at 6.

La Salle coach Freedom McCullough: “I am very proud of how everyone played. They all contributed and the outcome was a successful 5-0 tournament record. Last year, we missed the championship round because of a last-second lay up, so to go undefeated the very next year, and after losing five seniors is a sign of our growth.”
La Salle senior Julia Macabuhay: “I think we played very well for our first tournament of the season. We learned new things about ourselves that we can use to our advantage for season. But we also need to work on many things. Like boxing out, communicating, and mainly the little stuff. If we work on those things we will be in great shape.”
