After just getting back from Las Vegas on Saturday night, Muir was back to work on Tuesday in the prestigious Damien Tournament.

The Mustangs got out strong and held off Claremont to earn a comfortable win Tuesday evening.

Muir defeated the Wolfpack, 63-53, in the first round after outscoring the Wolfpack in each of the first three quarters.

Tasson Aubry’s 15 and Hunter Woods’ 14 led the way for the Mustangs’ offense.

Aubry added 6 rebounds and 2 blocks and Woods had 8 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 blocks and 2 assists.

Haleem Jenkins chipped in with 10 points, 2 assists and 2 steals.

Jacob Henry paced all scorers with a game-high 24 points on 7-of-15 shooting for the Wolfpack.

Matt Dirckx and Christian Jordan had 10 each for Claremont.

Muir point guard Tiyon Martin had another solid effort.

The senior scored 10 points and had 4 rebounds, 4 assists an 4 steals.

Neal Carter finished with 9 points and 2 boards and Simaine Stewart added 5 points, 5 assists and 2 steals.

Muir fill be back in action today (Wednesday) at 4 against Hesperia (8-3) at Bonita High School in La Verne.
