Maranatha took a 14 point lead into halftime and never looked back against the team from Phoenix, Arizona.

MHS won the tournament title, 62-35, and sophomore Patil Yaacoubian earned tournament MVP honors.

Yaacoubian had 13 on Saturday, but she led the Minutemen in scoring every game besides this one.

Emily Jordan was Saturday’s star with 26 points on 9 of 19 shooting.

Jordan also had 5 steals.

Mireille Minassian added 10 points and had 9 boards off the bench.

Cherise Masuda contributed 9 assists.

Mikayla Murphy finished with 4 points, and the freshman also grabbed 8 rebounds.

Maranatha won’t play until Jan. 9 when they open Olympic League play at Whittier Christian.
