Pasadena was a really good basketball team when they relied heavily on Bryce Hamilton, Darius Mason and their point guard, Darius Brown II.
But now, and with the additions of Omari Moore and Tavian Percy, who are making themselves feel comfortable in the Bulldogs’ scheme, PHS is going to be an incredibly tough program to knock off.
On Monday, in a designated ‘home game’ at Maranatha, Pasadena ran past Burbank with a pace many expected, 87-41, and behind another balanced effort by the Bulldogs.
Tavian Percy’s double-double was just one of the many solid efforts on Monday.
Percy finished with 16 points, a team-high 10 rebounds, as well as 3 assists and 3 steals.
Bryce Hamilton continues to be the most consistent offensive threat in the area.
The senior added 18 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
Darius Mason continued his solid play in Pacific League action with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists.
The man who makes it all go, Darius Brown II, kept that well-oiled machine running smoothly at point guard.
DBII had 8 points, but took just 5 shots all game long.
He also had a game-high 7 assists, as well as 3 steals.
PHS finished with 40 rebounds, 23 assists and 17 steals.
Omari Moore chipped in 9 points and 4 rebounds.
Davian Brown took just two shots, both of which were 3-point attempts.
The PHS sophomore and younger brother of Darius, made both and finished with 6 points.
Kalonji West had 5 points and 5 rebounds and Laz Morris chipped in 4 points and 4 rebounds.
Pasadena (9-6) moved to 2-1 in Pacific League play and they will travel to Hoover at 5 on Wednesday in a game that will likely have a similar outcome to Monday’s victory.
