On a rainy Tuesday night, the Minutemen hosted the Heralds of Whittier Christian in the first conference match of the 2018 season. Maranatha wasted no time finding the net, as Michael Antonovich notched his first conference goal in the opening minutes of play.

Antonovich’s shot, off a pass from Eric Chang, curled past the Whittier Christian keeper into the side netting. The Heralds answered back with an equalizer ten minutes later, but the Minutemen were just getting started. Late in the first half, it was Chang again, who carried the ball up the wing, feeding a through ball to Antonovich whose shot beat the keeper again. The Minutemen were back on top and never looked back.

After the restart, Antonovich scored again off a penalty kick from a hand ball in the box, earning his second hat trick of the season. The Minutemen travel to Heritage Christian next Tuesday, January 16th. Kickoff is at 2:30 p.m.
