It doesn’t sound like a 1-1 tie could ever be exciting, but the particulars in this one made it pretty remarkable.
Westridge got a first-half goal from Faith Porter and then led the rest of the way.
Until the final minute, that is.
Nadia O’Reilly scored, as her coach described it, “from a tight angle” with less than a minute to play.
The Tigers and Cubs had to settle for the tie.
Westridge will travel to Lynwood to take on Firebaugh on Friday.
Mayfield will also be on the road.
The Cubs will head to La Canada to take on Flintridge Prep on Friday at 3:15.
