From STAFF REPORTS

Friday night’s showdown between first-place Muir and second-place Pasadena will tip off at Maranatha at 8.

The time and even the location weren’t 100 percent finalized until Wednesday.

For those out of the loop, PHS is playing their entire home schedule away from campus as renovations have taken much longer than was expected.

The Bulldogs and Mustangs’ girls team are scheduled to battle at 6:30 at the same location.

Coaches, players and administrators from both sides are imploring fans to show up at least an hour before the 8 p.m. expected starting time.

The rivalry is already big enough on its own, but with Muir one-game ahead of Pasadena in the standings for their first of two with the Bulldogs, there should be an even more intense atmosphere.

Muir is on an 8-game winning streak and PHS has won four consecutive games since getting point guard Darius Brown II back in the lineup.

Also, for those who haven’t been to Maranatha, there is an underground lot close to the gymnasium by entering the underground structure on St. John Avenue.

Pacific League Standings Through January 16:
Muir (14-5 overall, 6-0 in league)
Pasadena (12-6, 5-1)
Crescenta Valley (11-8, 4-2)
Arcadia (6-7, 3-3)
Burroughs (11-6, 2-3)
Glendale (14-5, 2-4)
Burbank (12-7, 2-4)
Hoover (4-15, 0-6)
