La Salle High School has initiated a search for a new head football coach. Russ Gordon has left La Salle in order to take a position as Head of Football Operations at the collegiate level.

Gordon, who was hired in 2012, was an instant success as the Lancers won the first 10 regular season games with him as the head coach after taking over a team that went a combined 1-19 in 2010 and 2011. Gordon’s program won 36 games in his tenure, including the school’s first playoff win in 10 years.

“Although we are disappointed to lose Coach Gordon, we know this change is a great opportunity for him and his family,” said La Salle’s President, Dr. Richard Gray.

“Finding the next great coach who will lead La Salle into a new era of Lancer Football is our priority and we are excited to move forward in that process,” commented Courtney Kassakhian, Principal.

La Salle will be accepting applications for the Lancers Head Football Coach beginning today. Please contact La Salle’s Athletic Director, Anthony Harris, at aharris@lasallehs.org for details.
