Muir continues as its done all season to get a balanced effort on both sides of the court.

On Friday, the Mustangs defeated Burbank, 84-56, to hold its share of the Pacific League title and improved to 11-1.

Hunter Woods is having a senior season for the ages.

The 6-foot-6 forward had 23 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, 5 steals and 4 blocks.

Simaine Stewart Junior was also huge with 17 points, 4 assists, 4 rebounds and a steal.

Tiyon Martin, one of the area’s most talented and consistent guards added 14 points, 9 assists, 7 rebounds and 4 steals.

Haleem Jenkins more than did his part with 15 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals.

Ethan Fleming chipped in 5 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.

Joseph Dollaway finished with 4 points and 2 steals and Tasson Aubry had 4 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals.

Neal Carter pitched in 2 points and 7 rebounds.

Muir is on a 5-game winning streak and the Mustangs have won 13 of their last 14.

The Mustangs will host last-place Hoover on Tuesday at 6:30, and gets its shot at revenge and the Pacific League championship when they host Pasadena on Thursday at 7 in a winner-take-all scenario for both schools.

It is suggested that fans of both schools to be at Muir no later than two hours before tip off.

The game two weeks ago at Maranatha saw over 150 people turned away at ticket office.
