From STAFF REPORTS

It’s not a secret that third-place (in league) teams tend to get a brutal draw in the first round of the CIF-SS playoffs.

And such was the case for La Salle.

The Lancers had to travel to the South Coast League champions at Trabuco Hills on Wednesday night in the first round of the CIF-SS Division 2A playoffs.

Seniors Darius Henderson and Kenneth Franklin each poured in 17 points for La Salle.

But Trabuco Hills was just too good, and the Lancers fell, 69-50.

The loss ends La Salle’s season.

Quotable:

La Salle coach Mike Lynch: “Getting to shooters and a stagnant offense where we rely on Darius almost exclusively got us. I wish I could have done a better job tonight. Bad habits showed up at the wrong time. We picked a playoff contest to have our worst game.”

Records:
La Salle (16-12); Trabuco Hills (21-7)
