Poly surely felt disappointed on the 113-mile bus ride home from Cathedral City on Saturday evening.

But the Panthers have so much to be proud of, especially in the postseason.

On Saturday night, though, they fell in the CIF-SS Division 4A semifinals at Cathedral City, 65-50.

Poly had postseason victories over Moreno Valley, Notre Dame of Riverside and Maranatha to find themselves in the semifinal round.

Sarah Johnson had 16 points to lead the Panthers.

Kylie Kishi finished with 12 and Alexis Pappachan added 11.

Cathedral City took a 39-22 lead into halftime and earned their 16th consecutive victory of the season.

Sarah Thein contributed 7 points for Poly and Keara Caragher had 4.

Poly will find out late next week who they’ll face in the CIF State playoffs.
