Pasadena was able to make three third-inning runs stand up Saturday afternoon.

The Bulldogs held off Cleveland, 3-2, behind five pitchers in the Babe Herman Tournament.

Alvie Castro was back to being Alvie Castro.

One game after striking out three times, Castro went 2 for 3, including a triple, drove in one run and scored another.

Castro also went the first two innings, didn’t allow a hit or a walk and the senior struck out a pair of Cleveland batters.

So far, through 11 games, Castro is hitting .382 with a team-best 13 hits.

More importantly, however, he’s 3-0 on the mound and has yet to give up a single run through 19 innings.

Back to Saturday, Jacob Green had a sac fly and Adrian DePasquale singled and drove in a run to account for the Bulldogs scoring.

Aaron Corder finished 2 for 3, and Robert Olivades went 2 for 3 with a double and a run scored.

Christian Perez had one hit and scored in the three-run third inning.

Jonluke Gonzalez got the win after going the third, fourth and fifth innings, allowing one run on four hits and striking out a pair of Cleveland batters.

Jacob Green earned the save with a scoreless seventh inning to preserve the win.

Anthony Gonzalez was stuck with the loss, allowing three runs and seven hits over the first four innings Saturday.

Alec Garcia led Cleveland with two hits and had both of the Cavalier RBIs.

PHS will travel Monday to winless Paramount (0-6) for a tournament game at 3:15.
