Accomplishment(s): The Lancers’ senior has been arguably the Pasadena area’s breakout player of the year. After hitting just .141 last season, Mace is batting .430 over this, his senior season. On Friday, Mace hit a three-run home run in the first inning to give La Salle an early four-run lead at Charter Oak in the first round of the CIF-SS Division 3 playoffs. Mace finished the game with two hits and is one of the area’s best catchers. The Lancers rode the right arm of Zane Lindeman to a 5-3 victory and they will host Temecula Valley (26-6) on Tuesday at the Arcadia County Park. With his two hits Friday, Mace has raised his average to nearly .430 and has 16 more hits and 10 extra RBIs from his junior year.
