The historical match up between two Pasadena baseball programs has been set by CIF.
Moments ago, it was announced that Maranatha and La Salle will fight for the CIF-SS Division 3 championship at 10 a.m on Saturday at Cal State Fullerton.
It’s believed that this is the first match up between the two schools in a CIF championship game of any sport.
Maranatha, the No. 1 seed, was deemed the home team.
La Salle punched their ticket with a dramatic 3-2 victory yesterday over Long Beach Wilson and Maranatha rode the arm of the area’s best pitcher, Dawson Netz, to a 4-0 win at Redlands.
We will have plenty on this showdown as the week progresses.
