When people look back on Matt Queen’s senior season, they’ll be pretty impressed.

Queen led Poly to the CIF-SS Division 6 championship, as the Panthers defeated Moreno Valley, 6-1, Saturday afternoon at UC Riverside.

The Poly senior went six scoreless and allowed four hits.

He did walk five, but Queen fanned five and picked up his 12th win of the season.

Queen also had an area-best four postseason victories on the mound.

Cameron McFarlane, who’s headed to Palo Alto to play football at Stanford, can add one more accolade to his long list.

McFarlane went 1 for 3 and had a game-high three RBIs for the Panthers.

Queen went 2 for 3 and scored once.

Poly took a 2-0 lead into the bottom of the sixth inning and put Moreno Valley away with four sixth-inning runs.

Anthony Silvas got the loss, after allowing a pair of runs over his 4 1/3 innings.

Silvas walked three and struck out five.

David DeJesus and Jacob Curiel combined to go the final 1 2/3 innings and they surrendered four runs on three hits.

David DeJesus collected two of the Vikings’ five hits Saturday.

Franco Alonso went 1 for 4 and scored a run in the leadoff spot for Poly, and the star junior also closed out the game on the mound.

Ty Evans singled, walked and scored for the Prep League champs.

David Mathias walked twice and scored once and Ben Bryson singled and walked.

Joe Masters scored once and drove in a run and Jackson Hayes walked and scored a run for the Panthers.

The Poly victory snapped a 17-game win streak for Moreno Valley.
