The Lady Minutemen posted another strong score line against a rebuilding opponent, duplicating their 16-2 score against Pasadena last week.

Madison Kane and Malena Smith led singles with sweeps – Kane reeling off her second consecutive “golden match,” 6-0, 6-0, 6-0, and Smith going, 6-4, 6-1, 6-0. Rose Zhang went 1-1, going 6-0, 3-6, while Molly Mittelberg subbed in and recovered from a 0-3 deficit to win, 6-4. Kane remains undefeated (9-0) on the season.

Michael Wilkins/Aria Haver-Hill also are 9-0 and swept, 6-0, 6-1, 6-1, while newly formed doubles team Georgia Wilder/Stella Wang also swept, 6-1, 6-2, 6-2. Amanda Yee/Shuhan Yang continue to work on building their team dynamic, dropping their first set against the Falcons’ #3 doubles, 3-6, before finding their groove and bouncing back, 6-3, against #2 and 7-6(5) against #1.

The D-5 Lady Minutemen will get a more accurate gauge of where they are at as they continue on the road next Tuesday against the D-4 San Gabriel Matadors for a 3:30 p.m. match.
