Both sides were beat up even before the match began, with much of the Lady Minutemen squad playing sick and several of the Matadors suffering from injuries.

Once again, singles were led by the 1-2 punch of Madison Kane and Malena Smith, won in dominating fashion, 6-0, 6-0, 6-0 and 6-0, 6-1, 6-0. Rose Zhang lost her first set, 2-6, before subbing out due to illness. Though also ill, her replacement, Molly Mittelberg, responded competitively, losing against the Matadors’ #1 singles player, 5-7, and defeating their #2 singles, 6-3.

Doubles were led once again by Michael Wilkins and Aria Haver-Hill, who, along with Kane, remain undefeated this season. They swept 6-3, 6-2, 6-0. Georgia Wilder and Stella Wang won their first two sets, 6-3, 6-2, before dropping their final set against the #1’s, 5-7. Amanda Yee and Shuhan Yang also won two, going 6-2, 4-6, 7-6 (1).

The Lady Minutemen look to get back to health soon and will open the league season at the Burbank Tennis Center against the Heritage Christian Warriors. The defending Olympic League champions, Maranatha will be trying to win their 6th league crown in 7 seasons.
