Accomplishments: Makenna Hicks has been far and away the school’s most consistent and talented player for a number of years. She has the Lancers’ low score in what seems to be every match they play. After leading La Salle to victory over St. Paul, Hicks saved her best for later. She played Wednesday in spite of being nowhere near 100 percent physically and has been ill over the past couple weeks. But instead of staying home and recuperating, Hicks knew the program was down one player and came out to Marshall Canyon in a league match against Pomona Catholic. The Lancers defeated Pomona Catholic by six strokes, thanks in large part to the 45 Hicks finished with. The next closest La Salle golfer was 13 strokes behind the star senior. The win improved the Lancers’ league mark to 3-1.
