In a short text message conversation with FSHA coach Trent Tcheng on Saturday, he seemed to think FSHA did not play near the kind of volleyball they’re capable of.

The standards at FSHA are very high for the girls volleyball program.

Having said that, they did go 4-2 in the Crescenta Valley Tournament on Saturday.

The Tologs defeated Eagle Rock (25-15, 25-15), Sequoyah (25-5, 25-5), Cleveland (25-13, 25-12) and Chatsworth by scores of 25-11 and 25-16.

FSHA’s two setbacks came to Crescenta Valley (27-29 and 24-26) and the Tologs fell in three to South Pasadena (25-11, 19-25, 13-15).

Peyton DeJardin finished the one-day tournament with 36 kills and 14 aces.

Dani Thomas-Nathan added a team-best 41 kills, and also had 23 digs.

Skylar Bowyer had 12 blocks and Ryan Dubb finished with 36 digs.

Emmie Barnard contributed 78 assists and Ellie Lund had 54 assists.

The Tologs will host Mayfield on Tuesday in a nonleague match and then travel to last-place Marlborough this coming Thursday in a Mission League contest.

Next week, FSHA finishes out its regular season schedule with a pair of Mission League matches.

They will host Harvard-Westlake on Tuesday and travel to Marymount on Friday.

The Wolverines (3-1) are in second place and the Sailors (4-0) sit atop the Mission League standings.
