From STAFF REPORTS

Muir doesn’t just lead the entire Pasadena area in wins (5), the Mustangs are also the only area program ranked in the latest CIF-SS poll.

In Monday’s release, CIF has Muir ranked No. 8 in Division 9.

The Mustangs have won consecutive games over the Pacific League’s bottom rung.

Over the past two weeks, Muir has hammered Hoover and Glendale by a combined margin of 118-7.

But now that the easy games are out of the way, the Mustangs will face Burroughs this week and finish out the season with Burbank, Arcadia and Pasadena.

As of Monday, Muir is tied for third place with Burbank at 2-1 in Pacific League play.

Both Arcadia and Crescenta Valley are 3-0.

The Mustangs have gotten big-game efforts from their entire roster, including quarterbacks Brian Love and Amaris Harrison, running backs Jahlique Stephens, Chuck Shull, and receivers Aryonis Harrison and Caleb Snowden, just to name a few.

St. Francis has the area’ longest win streak, which is at three games now.

Poly is 4-1, and they come off their bye week, and travel to Calabasas to take on Viewpoint.

PHS fell to Burbank last week and will bounce back when they take on Hoover this Friday.

Maranatha will open Olympic League play Friday when they host Cerritos Valley Christian.

La Salle will look for its first win of the season when the Lancers host St. Anthony (1-5) in a Del Rey League match up.
