Mayfield finally found itself on the right side of a tiebreaker.

Chadwick defeated Mayfield twice this season in Prep League matches, despite the fact that both teams won 9 matches in each showdown.

The Dolphins won the tiebreaker both times, and did so by 2 games each.

But on Thursday, after Mayfield and Westridge were locked in a 9-9 tie in another Prep League showdown, the Cubs escaped with a victory, thanks to a 76-74 advantage in games.

Lauren Panajotovic went a long way in deciding the outcome.

The Cubs No. 1 player went 3-0 and won 18 games to just 4 for her three opponents combined.

Alexia Saigh and Rebecca Leiva played huge at No. 1 doubles, going 3-0, including a tiebreaker victory in their second match.

Ashlinn and Elise Kingston won 2 of 3 on Thursday at No. 2 for Mayfield.

Katrina Weng won 2 of 3 matches for Westridge in singles matches.

The Tigers got two wins apiece for their No. 1 and No. 3 doubles’ teams.

Mayfield will travel to Maranatha on Friday and Westridge will compete in next week’s Prep League singles tournament on Wednesday.

Records: Mayfield (6-3 overall, 3-3 in league) Westridge (5-5, 1-4)
