After five miserable weeks of losing, Pasadena can finally smile.

The Bulldogs got coach DeJuan Shamburger his first win at the school.

Shamburger can thank quarterback Daron Derderian for much of Friday’s 23-18 victory over Glendale.

Derderian threw two touchdown passes on Friday night.

Derderian’s 5-yard score to Jalen Jolley turned out to be the difference.

It was not only the first win of the season (1-5) but it also gave Pasadena an important Pacific League victory as well.

Pasadena looks to make it two in a row when they travel to first-place Crescenta Valley (5-1, 3-0) next Friday.

Burroughs (3-3, 2-1)
Pasadena (1-5, 1-2)
