Hoover hadn’t beaten Muir in a football game since Ronald Reagan was walking around 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

The Tornadoes (3-4, 0-4) led for most of the game and put the scare in a Muir team that had dropped its last four games.

In fact, Hoover had a 14-point lead in the second quarter.

But Jordan Baker’s 3-yard TD run near the midway part of the fourth quarter ensured a Muir victory, 28-26, Friday night in a Pacific League contest.

Devin Moore came up huge for Muir, with five tackles in a row, including three for loss on Hoover’s final possession of the game.

Ahmir Davis had a 30-yard fumble recovery for a score for Muir (3-4, 1-3)

The Mustangs will go to Glendale next Friday at 7.
