There was no drama in Poly’s Friday night victory over Firebaugh.

The Panthers knew the Falcons are in rebuilding mode, and kept their perfect season alive.

Their 61-0 victory was more about sharpening tools and getting ready for next week’s match up at Rio Hondo Prep with the Prep League title at stake.

John Genske continued his torrid pace with two more TD passes, and even caught a TD pass from Matt Loomis.

Will McConnell caught a TD pass and picked off Firebaugh and brought it back for a score.

Matt Queen had a TD run and had an interception on defense.

Patrick Woodsome picked up a fumble for Poly and brought it back 70 yards for a TD.

Brady Carter ran for a touchdown and Jackson Hayes caught another score.

Daniel D’Amico joined Woodsome in the stat book with a fumble recovery for a TD.

Chris Mathews scored on a 30-yard run.

“We are focused on Rio this week and know that our league championship has run through there for the past 15 years,” Poly coach Chris Schmoke said. “We are focused and preparing hard for a good Rio team who is well coached and tough.”
