Each time it seems Maranatha is down and out, the Minutemen clutch up and beat someone they’re not supposed to (on paper).

After a huge and thrilling victory last Friday over Heritage Christian, they look to upset visiting Crean Lutheran (6-2) on Friday night at 7.

The Saints score just under 30 points per game and have allowed an average of 16 points each Friday.

Maranatha (3-4-1) are led by quarterback Kwon Peterson, who had a breakout game last week.

The junior completed 13 of 15 passes for 296 yards and two touchdown passes.

Maranatha still has an uphill battle to make the playoffs, but winning out always helps.

The Minutemen will be back in Olympic League action next week when they close out the regular season at first-place Valley Christian of Cerritos.

Olympic League Standings:
Valley Christian (6-2 overall, 2-0 in league)
Village Christian (6-2, 1-1)
Heritage Christian (5-3, 1-1)
Whittier Christian (5-4, 1-2)
Maranatha (3-4-1, 1-2)
