Congratulations J. Muir High School sophomore Perry Bennett who most recently won the Frosh/Sophomore Cross Country (XC) Pacific League Distance Champion. This year’s Pacific League Cross Country Finals were held in Crescenta Valley Community Park, Los Angeles County.

Perry ran the 3 Mile Course in 17 minutes & 24 seconds. Perry’s best time for the season is 15:49 which is within the top 20 of Varsity XC. Perry explains,”… he loves the challenge of running and cutting down his times.” He credits his success to his parents and coach. Additionally, in preparation for distance running, nutrition plays a large role in his training. Nutrition is very important to him and he loves that his parents established this healthy life style. This middle distance runner plans on running in the following categories: 3200, 1600, & 800 meters.

Perry’s current GPA is 3.4 and he is considering attending an eastern coast college or university after his graduation. Perry is currently enrolled in the Engineering Academy. His coach and trainer is Terry Jenkins.
