It’s not that La Salle doesn’t want to win every game they play, but if you’re going to lose, nonleague games won’t affect their playoff seeding.

San Marcos took a 14-point lead into the break, and held off a surging Lancers squad, 68-55 on Saturday evening in the Steve Albers Memorial Shootout.

Julia Macabuhay got off to a slow start as well, but the Lancers star found her touch and finished with 31 points.

Nicole Ortiz added 11 points, while Arielle Fong had 5.

Gil so contributed 4 points and Katie Perez and Crystal Ramirez had 1 point apiece.

La Salle gets a big test Tuesday when they travel to Bellarmine Jefferson at 7.

The Guards and Lancers are both 4-0 in league play, so something will have to give Tuesday.
