The sign of a good team is finding a way to win even when they don’t play as well as they’re capable.

Pasadena committed more turnovers in the first half in Tuesday night’s game against visiting Burroughs than it averages in an entire game.

But Bryce Hamilton’s 27 points and 10 rebounds, and his supporting cast doing their jobs as well added up to a 67-54 victory for the Bulldogs.

Pasadena keeps its 2-game lead in the Pacific League with the victory, despite Muir defeating Hoover, 70-48, on Tuesday.

Hamilton made 10 of his 18 shots, including three 3 point baskets in five attempts. He also had three assists.

Darius Brown II had 11 points, 8 assists, 5 rebounds and 5 steals, on 4-of-7 shooting.

Pasadena (15-5, 8-0) got 12 points and 5 rebounds from Darius Mason.

The Bulldogs did make 12 of 16 free-throw attempts, and 9 of their 28 rebounds were off the offensive boards.

Pasadena will host Crescenta Valley on Friday at 7. The first time around, the Bulldogs claimed a 24-point victory on Jan. 6 at Crescenta Valley.

“Tonight’s win was just that, a win,” Pasadena coach Tony Brooks said. “The team knows that they did not play well, but I am proud that they fought through the tough spots and found a way to extend the score and get the win. Those games can end in defeat. So we will take it, but we are full aware of the amount of work that we still have in front of us. Hopefully, lesson learned.”

Pacific League Standings:
