From Staff Reports

Pasadena didn’t just beat Burroughs, 45-42, Tuesday night for the first time in 10 years, the Bulldogs are now tied in first place of the Pacific League with Crescenta Valley.

Maria Cathcart’s bucket and Emily Eter’s two free-throw shots in the last 20 seconds of the game were the difference.

Pasadena hopes to ride this wave into Friday night’s game with Burroughs, as the Bulldogs could take over the league standings alone with a win.

Either the Pasadena defense was outstanding or the Burrough’s offense was pathetic, as the Indians turned the ball over a whopping 34 times, including turnovers in each of their three final possessions.

Cathcart scored 6 of her team’s final 13 points, and led the Bulldogs with 16.

Pacific League Standings:
Pasadena (17-6 overall, 5-2 in league)
Crescenta Valley (13-8, 5-2)
Glendale (13-9, 4-3)
Burroughs (12-10, 4-3)
Arcadia (11-9, 3-4)
Burbank (12-12, 3-4)
Hoover (1-16, 0-6)
