Tuesday night would go down as a very special date for Westridge senior Juliana Favela.

Favela led the Tigers with 22 points, she hit the prestigious 1,000 point mark, and led Westridge to a 48-45 victory at Mayfield.

Favela scored 10 of the Tigers 12 fourth-quarter points to make it even more remarkable.

Westridge has now won 7 of its last 8, and five in a row.

Sarah Rozario scored all 9 of her points on 3-point shots.

Ashley Wei had 7 for the Tigers and Ella Wood had 6.

“Juliana has worked incredibly hard to perfect her shot, and on the game of basketball,” Westridge coach Melanie Horn said. “Not only is she the leading scorer on the team, she is also their leader and role model. I am incredibly proud of her accomplishment, and honored to have her on our team. The team has worked throughout the season, and our defensive game is really coming together.”

Westridge will host league champion Flintridge Prep on Thursday at 5 to close out the regular season slate.
