The 162-mile bus ride to Pioneer Valley High School in Santa Maria turned out to be a nice trip for the Westridge soccer program.
The Tigers had a CIF-SS Division 4 Wild Card game against Nipomo Tuesday evening.
Behind goals from N’Dea Godwin and Kaitlin Zareno, Westridge defeated Nipomo, 2-1.
Jasmyn Zarate scored the lone goal for the Titans (10-9-4).
Westridge (14-4-2) plays at West Covina on Thursday at 5 p.m.
The Bulldogs have won 12 games and lost only 2, but they’ve had an unusual 10 ties so far this season.
There will not be a chance at an 11th tie, because in the playoffs, there has to be a winner, either in regulation or a shootout.
