It was beginning to look like the Pasadena City College men’s basketball team would join visiting and last place Rio Hondo in the cellar of the South Coast Conference North Division. The Lancers were down 61-53 with just 3:39 left in their home finale, but Dejon Williams and Eris Winder teamed up to combine for the game’s final 11 points as PCC won 64-61 at Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium.

The Lancers (7-19, 2-7 in SCC play) stormed back as Williams hit a layup, then sank a 3-pointer. With 2:23 to go, Williams again drove for a basket. Winder followed with the game-winning basket on a driving layup with 1:05 left in the game. Winder would make two free throws with 20 seconds left to seal the win that insures the team of a fith place finish in the six-team North Division..

Williams made 8-for-11 from the floor and bucketed 17 points. Winder had 12 points, five assists and five rebounds. McKay Anderson added 13 points and nine boards and Todd Barnes added 10 points.

PCC will finish the 2016-17 season on Friday, Feb. 17 at East Los Angeles College. Game time is 5 p.m.
