Accomplishments: All three junior forwards led their teams in scoring this season, and over the weekend in the CIF-SS championship games.

Austin scored 16 points in Maranatha’s 43-41 loss to Rancho Verde in the Division 1-AA finals on Saturday night at Azusa Pacific. It wasn’t so much his number of points as it was when he made them and the difficulty of Austin’s baskets. He hit several shots down the stretch, including a 3-point basket with 3 seconds to play to get the Minutemen to within 42-41.

Washington was Blair’s offense in Saturday’s CIF-SS Division 4-AA loss to West Torrance. The star junior finished with 26 points and 17 rebounds, but the Vikings fell, 65-54. Washington, at the half, had 12 of Blair’s 17 points, and he continued his solid play in the second half. In five postseason games, Washington scored 120 points.

Hamilton had a game-high 30 points in Pasadena’s CIF-SS Division 1-A loss at the hands of Harvard-Westlake. The Bulldogs junior also had 11 rebounds in Friday night’s title game at Azusa Pacific University. Hamilton averages 22 points and 11 rebounds this season and his production continues to get better even as the competition gets tougher in the postseason.
