Sophomore transfer forward McKay Anderson was the only Pasadena City College selection on the 14-player, All-South Coast Conference Men’s Basketball Team for 2016-2017. Anderson led the Lancers in scoring at 18.8 points a game to go with 9 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.2 steals averages.

Anderson, who played at La Verne Lutheran High and then Southern Utah University, made 51.9 percent of his field goal attempts and shot 70.3 percent from the free throw line. He scored a season-high 35 points in a December win over Oxnard at the College of Sequoias Tournament. Twice in SCC play, he grabbed 16 rebounds in a game.

The 6-foot-5, 190-pound Anderson was regarded for a relentless ability to grab rebounds on both ends of the floor. He displayed a nifty short jump shot as well as being able to make reverse layups under heavy defensive pressure in the post.

Sophomore guards Dejon Williams and Todd Barnes were All-SCC honorable mentions. Williams finished his two-year PCC career by making the 37th spot on the school’s all-time top scoring list. with 718 career points. Barnes, a letterman, finished his Lancers career with 648 points, good enough for 46th place on the list.

All three players played for PCC head coach Michael Swanegan, who finished his 10th year in charge of the Lancers.
