Notre Dame of Sherman Oaks isn’t in first place in the very tough Mission League by accident.

The Knights have only lost one league game since March 28 and have been getting production throughout their lineup.

In Monday’s 13-2 victory over St. Francis at the Glendale Sports Complex, things were no different.

Notre Dame pounded out 12 hits off three St. Francis pitchers.

Hunter Greene had three hits, including two home runs, scored three runs and drove in two.

Devan Omelas went 2 for 4 with one run scored and four RBIs for Notre Dame.

St. Francis did all their damage in the first inning off freshman pitcher Lucas Gordon.

Already trailing 3-0, Christian Muro doubled and came home when Brandon Lewis doubled off the center field fence.

Doyle Kane drove Lewis home with an RBI single to get the Golden Knights to within 3-2.

But Gordon, Brennan Hart and Tyler Stromsborg didn’t allow a hit over the final six innings.

Evan Tontini allowed seven runs on six hits over 2 2/3 innings.

He walked four and struck out one batter.

Hayden Byrnes didn’t get much help from his defense.

Notre Dame got five runs off Byrnes over 3 1/3 innings and four hits, but only two runs were earned.

Byrnes walked two and struck out two.

Gordon helped his own cause with two hits and two RBIs.

Michael Whiteside also had two RBI and collected two hits for Notre Dame.

Gordon got the win after allowing the two runs over five innings on three hits.

He walked two and struck out seven St. Francis batters.

The Golden Knights will look to bounce back on Wednesday at Notre Dame at 3:30, and have just two games to go in their season.
