All-South Coast Conference First Team forward Diego Rodriguez and reserve midfielder Lukemba Massamba both are continuing their collegiate careers at Kansas Wesleylan University. That makes the total of Pasadena City College men’s soccer players at KWU rise to three as the pair join Artin Almary in becoming Coyotes in 2017.

Rodriguez (from Kennedy High, Granada Hills) was the only PCC player to play in all 23 of the Lancers games in 2016 when they advanced as far as the third round of SoCal Regionals. He netted just two assists but was a big factor in helping PCC’s speed game in moving the ball into opposing territory.

Massamba (Blair High) appeared only in six matches due to injuries, but the returner from 2014 (16 games, one goal) impressed the KWU coaching staff with his skill set and veteran presence.

Rodriguez and Massamba will play under KWU’s new head coach Diego Cocon. The duo were directed by Lancers head coach Henry Cabral in 2016. Kansas Wesleylan is a NAIA university.
