The Caltech men’s and women’s fencing programs have released their schedule for the 2017-18 season.

Schedule

A select few Beavers will open their season early on Oct. 13 at the first North American Cup USA Fencing national event in Anaheim. The full team will converge the following week to host the individual Intercollegiate Fencing Conference of Southern California Collegiate Open on Sunday, Oct. 22.

The first team competition of the year will take place in the form of an IFCSC Mega Meet on either Oct. 28 or 29 in Riverside, followed by the elite individual BladeRunner USFA Regional Open Circuit event in San Diego on Nov. 4 and 5 to close the first half of the season.

Caltech picks back up with its first full NCAA competition at the Western Invitational in Stanford on Jan. 13-14, then heads east for the Stevens Invitational in Hoboken, N.J. The Beavers conclude NCAA competition at the Northwestern Duals Feb. 3-4, with the penultimate IFCSC meet scheduled for Feb. 10 and the conference championships two weeks later, both in San Diego.

Fencers who have won at least 25 percent of their NCAA bouts will qualify for the NCAA West Regional, to be held on Mar. 9-10. Five men and two women qualified for last year’s regional. The NCAA Championships will take place Mar. 22-25.
