For the second week in a row, St. Francis needed to wait until the final play of the game to know the outcome.<\/p>\n

Thankfully for the Golden Knights, it\u2019s been all good news of late.<\/p>\n

After taking a 28-7 lead in the first half, Dorsey came all the way back and looked in control.<\/p>\n

But Elijah Washington\u2019s late 1-yard TD run, and a defensive stand that ended with Daniel Scott making a play in the end zone led to St. Francis\u2019 34-28 win over visiting Dorsey.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Michael Bonds had another solid night at quarterback, including 3 TD passes.<\/p>\n

Bonds hit Daniel Scott on an 11-yard TD in the first quarter before Isaiah Smalls\u2019 5-yard run got Dorsey even.<\/p>\n

Bonds then hit Washington, who took a screen pass 25 yards for the score, and then threw a 25-yard score to Gabriel Matthews.<\/p>\n

Jace Harrick\u2019s 1-yard TD run gave St. Francis a 28-7 lead, but it looked like the Golden Knights went into the break on cruise control.<\/p>\n

Dorsey came out and scored three times and held St. Francis to just two offensive plays in the third quarter, and one resulted in Bonds\u2019 lone interception of the night.<\/p>\n

But Washington\u2019s 1-yard score with 3:43 to play after a defensive stand put momentum back in the Golden Knights favor until Dulles Hanula\u2019s extra-point attempt was blocked, giving St. Francis the 34-28 lead.<\/p>\n

It also meant, though, a TD and extra-point from Dorsey would end the St. Francis undefeated streak.<\/p>\n

Jerman Gotoy, who threw two second-half TD passes, drove Dorsey (2-2) from its own 10-yard line to the 18 yard line with 7.2 seconds to play.<\/p>\n

On the final play of the game, Gotoy threw the ball deep into the far right corner of the end zone and Daniel Scott had what looked to be an interception.<\/p>\n

The referees called Scott out of bounds and film looked to back that up, but Scott\u2019s play on defense won the game, and the Golden Knights improve to 4-0.<\/p>\n

Bonds finished 13 of 18 for 200 yards, the three TD passes and one pick.<\/p>\n

Harrick had 69 yards on 12 carries and a TD.<\/p>\n

Greg Dulcich, Daniel Scott, Elijah Washington and Gabriel Matthews all had huge games at receiver for the Golden Knights, who continue at home for the next three weeks.<\/p>\n

St. Francis will host Buena Park, La Salle and Salesian in consecutive weeks.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think we got a little complacent when we got up 28-7 and downshifted,\u201d St. Francis coach Jim Bonds said. \u201cWe had a lot of good things. Our offense clicked in the first half, but we need to eliminate turnovers.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bonds spoke about his weapons on offense.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe more Michael (Bonds, his nephew) spreads the ball around, the more dangerous we\u2019re going to be. If he continues to do that, we\u2019re going to be tough to beat.\u201d<\/p>\n

But if was the defense that earned the victory.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe kept everything in front of us and Daniel (Scott) was in great position and came down to the last play for the second week in a row.\u201d<\/p>\n

Washington had just two carries, but his second was the game winner, and he took a 25-yard screen pass for another score in the first half.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just try to help my team the best I can,\u201d Washington said. \u201cOn the goal line with about two minutes left, I scored a touchdown from about two yards out and it turned out to be the game winner. We got kind of lazy when we got up 28-7, but after that our defense held strong and got the win.\u201d<\/p>\n
