La Salle didn’t just win a Del Rey League championship.
They didn’t just go undefeated.
The Lancers swept each opponent and racked up a 24-0 record in games played when it came to Del Rey League matches, including 6-0 in games against the reigning CIF champions from St. Joseph.
To do that, they just needed the sweep they got over lowly Serra.
The Cavs didn’t win a league match all year and won just one of 25 games.
La Salle earned a 25-8, 25-16 and 25-18 victory on Senior Night.
Claire Forrest and Natalie Gohrick led La Salle with 8 kills each.
Forrest also added 5 blocks for the Lancers.
Tori Ashkinos added 7 kills, and Sophia Anderson finished with 4 kills and 4 aces.
Abby McKiernan chipped in 4 kills and Tamia Cephus had 10 assists and 2 aces.
La Salle coach Tiare Tuitama has grinded through another great season, but she and her Lancers would tell you they prepare all year for the playoffs and making a run at a CIF championship.
The CIF Southern Section is set to release the playoff brackets this coming Thursday at 3.
