Caltech men’s water polo freshman center Steven Csaposs (Davis, Calif. / Davis) parlayed a stellar rookie season into Second Team All-SCIAC Honors as voted on by the conference coaches.

Csaposs had a nose for the net and finished the season with 61 goals overall and 38 goals against SCIAC teams, good for third in the conference. His impact on the team extended beyond his scoring touch, however. Csaposs also led the team with 32 exclusions drawn, with a ratio slightly better than 2:1 against exclusions given and finished second on the team in steals with 29. His seven field blocks also tied for a team lead as he quickly established himself as a crucial cog in the Caltech men’s water polo machine as a freshman.

Csaposs joins Head Coach Jon Bonafede, who earned the SCIAC Coaching Staff of the Year award and senior Richard May (Guilford, Conn. / Choate Rosemary Hall) for the All-Sportsmanship Team as Caltech honorees for this year’s SCIAC men’s water polo awards.
