From STAFF REPORTS

Pasadena had a preseason goal to go undefeated in Pacific League play for the second consecutive season.

With the return of Bryce Hamilton, Darius Brown II and Darius Mason, along with the transfer pick up of Omari Moore and Tavian Percy, there was no reason to think any different.

But injuries have plagued the Bulldogs early on in the 2017-18 season, including the fact that its point guard, DBII did not play Wednesday night and Percy and Mason are not anywhere near 100 percent themselves.

No excuses, though, as Arman Pezeshkian converted on seven 3-point buckets and finished with a game-high 39 points to lead Crescenta Valley to a 65-60 victory over the visitors and 13-time reigning Pacific League champs.

Pasadena knew it wasn’t going to be their night when shooting 56 percent from the field (25 of 45) wasn’t good enough to pick up the win.

CV also used a 40-30 advantage in the second half to pull away from PHS.

Bryce Hamilton led the Bulldogs with 30 points and 9 rebounds.

Hamilton was 11 of 22 from the field, and 5 of 6 from the free-throw line.

Darius Mason looked like Darius Mason, to the delight of Pasadena fans.

The junior, who had struggled of late to get going offensively, scored 14 points on 7 of 11 shooting.

He also grabbed 9 boards and dished out 6 of PHS’ 11 assists.

The offensive production stopped there, though.

Omari Moore had 5 points and Roman Soloman and Tavian Percy had 4 points each.

PHS will face Arcadia on Friday night at PCC at 7.
