FSHA’s Peyton DeJardin and Dani Thomas-Nathan ended their freshman year on a strong note.

It wasn’t the outcome they would have liked, but they are a pair of the area’s star players to watch over the next three years.

DeJardin led the Tologs with 18 kills and 14 digs.

Thomas-Nathan added 15 kills and 14 digs on Saturday night.

But San Clemente earned the four-game victory in the second round of the CIF-SS Division 2 playoffs.

The Tritons won by scores of 25-18, 25-16, 23-25 and 25-23.

Senior Ryan Dubb finished with 19 digs.

Ellie Lund added 37 assists.

Quotable:

FSHA coach Trent Tcheng: “This match was indicative of our season. We had peaks and we had valleys. Our inability to be consistent makes us exhaust a lot of energy and momentum to fight back. San Clemente did a great job of executing their game plan. That team is well coached and loaded with all upperclassmen and it showed in their play when the match got close. We are proud of the girls for the fight they put in this year. It was a great year and we have a lot of building blocks in place for the future. We would like to thank our seniors for the time and dedication that they put into our program.”

Records: FSHA (25-15); San Clemente (28-7)
