It was their first road game in a month.

No big deal.

St. Francis made itself at home in Studio City with a 49-7 victory over Harvard-Westlake.

The Golden Knights are now 8-0 overall and 3-0 in Angelus League play.

It also sets up an enormous showdown next Friday when St. Francis goes to Los Angeles to take on Cathedral, which is also 8-0, after defeating Salesian, 37-36.

St. Francis, per usual, played all three phases of the game well.

On offense, Michael Bonds went 12 of 18 for 150 yards and two TD passes.

Bonds hit Greg Dulcich on a 12-yard score and Daniel Scott on a 23-yard TD strike.

On defense, the Golden Knights held Harvard-Westlake (3-5, 0-3) to just one score.

And as important, on special teams, St. Francis had two blocked punts and continue to dominate every opponent in this department.

“Our special teams coach Ted Corcoran does a great job preparing them each week and it shows,” St. Francis coach Jim Bonds said. “It was great to stay focused in that environment after spending the last few weeks at home. We played well in all three phases of the game, and did a lot of things well tonight.”

Jace Harrick rushed for 101 yards on 14 carries, and had TD runs of 10 and 7 yards.

It was Harrick’s first multi-TD game of the year.

“Our offensive line balled out and executed their assignments,” Harrick said. “They are the reason we were able to perform the way we did. It feels good to run for over 100 yards, but I’m proud of how well the receivers blocked. I believe the main reason we’re 8-0 is because no one cares who gets the credit. We just want to win.”,

His tag-team partner, Elijah Washington, had 11 carries for 75 yards, and the junior speedster scored on a 15-yard TD run.

Harrick and Washington now have 10 combined TDs on the ground.

Bonds also rushed for 35 yards on 4 carries.

“We played well on offense, defense and special teams,” Michael Bonds said. “It was a great overall ‘team win,’ and it’s great to be 8-0. We have great coaching and all the hard work is paying off. We will get back to work tomorrow (Monday).”

Will Mudie had an early punt recovery to set up a St. Francis score.

Angelus League Standings:
St. Francis (8-0 overall, 3-0 in league)
Cathedral (8-0, 3-0)
La Salle (5-3, 1-2)
