Accomplishments: Kikkawa saved his best for the final week of the regular season. He had 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 7 assists in Prep’s 60-48 win over then second-place Chadwick. But it was the senior’s 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in Friday night’s victory over first-place Poly that turned heads. Kikkawa scored the final two points of regulation and 8 consecutive points in overtime for the Rebels.
“Winning these two games is huge for our team,” Kikkawa said. “Not only did we avenge losses to both teams, we played better. And this is a perfect time to be playing better, with the playoffs right around the corner. I’ve been feeding off the confidence of my teammates. Everybody has stepped up this week.”
